Vamos a empezar pasito a paso, para ello os muestro los vídeos de Supersimplesongs de phonics. Son muy rítmicos y divertidos. ¡Espero que os guste!

¡Hola! El método de enseñanza de inglés fonético o a través de phonics consiste en romper la palabra en sonidos representados por cada letra (ej. p-e-t). Luego los niños/as deberán reconstruir la palabra para crear el sonido completo. Este método se puede (y debe) enseñar de manera amena y divertida, a través de canciones, rimas y juegos.

Pues bien, existe una página web, Starfall, donde se muestra claramente cómo funciona este método. En ella distinguimos cuatro secciones, configuradas de forma progresiva o por niveles: 

- ABCs. Esta sección nos presenta las letras que conforman el alfabeto inglés. Si pinchamos en cada una de ellas, nos presentará el sonido al que representa esa letra, a través de diferentes ejemplos. Además incluye el Download center donde podemos acceder a distintos imprimibles de forma gratuita.

- Learn to read. Aquí podemos encontrar pequeñas lecturas clasificadas según los conjuntos de letras y sonidos aprendidos. Son lecturas muy sencillas y útiles para el aprendizaje de los más pequeños.  

- It´s fun to read! Consiste en un conjunto de lecturas divertidas en forma de poesía, música, trabalenguas... Constituye el siguiente paso después de las adquisiciones básicas, ya que aquí realmente verán la funcionalidad de la lectura (a partir de 6 años).

- I´m reading. El siguiente nivel consiste en una serie de lecturas clasificadas por género. La lectura es más fluida y ya no es silábica.

Muchas madres y padres me preguntan por el método fonético para el aprendizaje del inglés de sus hijos/as. Yo no lo he trabajado aún en mis clases, puesto que aún no tengo un conocimiento profundo de esta metodología, pero debido al interés que suscita y a la gran efectividad que tiene, voy a empezar a integrarla de manera progresiva. Recuerdo que mi metodología consiste básicamente en una enseñanza global, donde el vocabulario se aprende a través de flashcards (o tarjetas con imágenes), juegos, vídeos y canciones, basados en TPR (respuesta total física). No obstante, desde casa podéis entrar en esta página de starfall para jugar y practicar con vuestros peques, a la vez que aprenden sin ningún esfuerzo. ¡Ya me contaréis los resultados!

Earth Day

Observing the rhythm of the seasons and the cycles in nature is a wonderful way to celebrate and value the world we live in. Children have a natural fascination for discovery, so it is very easy to get them interested.

Always encourage kids to be careful with our resources, not to waste things unnecessarily. Try to recycle as much as possible and emphasise the satisfaction that can be gained from doing so. As a family, try to walk or cycle whenever you can rather than jumping in the car for short journeys. Encourage your children to experience the wonders of nature by getting outside, growing things, and collecting natural treasure for crafts and home decoration .

All these things will help to build a love and respect for our beautiful planet, which will in turn be handed on to future generations. This Earth Day song helps to spread the word. Let’s try to make a difference before it is too late.

And remember that every day is Earth Day: anything to help our environment is a perfect thing to do on Earth Day and every day!!!
