Welcome to a new school year!


Hola familias! Bienvenidos a este nuevo curso escolar! Sí, soy consciente de que lo estoy haciendo en el mes de octubre, pero como se diría en inglés, I´m running out of time! (me ha pillado el toro, vaya).

Anyway, os voy a presentar los contenidos que he planificado para este curso, para que podáis hacer un seguimiento de lo que van aprendiendo vuestros hijos/as (están separados por nivel):

3 AÑOS

TERM

- School supplies: crayon, book, teacher, floor, pencil, rubber, paper, notebook, scissors.

- Face, body and feelings: ears, nose, eyes, mouth, shoulders, knees, feet, sad, happy, scared.

- Halloween: bat, ghost, monster, vampire, witch…

- Christmas: Christmas tree, Santa, presents, stocking…

- Toys and games:  ball, doll, teddy bear, dinosaur, train, slide, swing, bike, scooter, skipping rope….

- Clothes: trousers, t-shirt, dress, hat, jacket, boots, scarf, shoes. Put on/Take off

- House: bedroom, bathroom, living-room, kitchen, bed, sofa, bath

- Clothes: trousers, t-shirt, dress, hat, jacket, boots, scarf, shoes. Put on/Take off

- Food and fruits: biscuit, sandwich, yoghurt, pizza, apples, pears, oranges, bananas, cherries, strawberries… Do you like…?

Para trabajar dichos conceptos nos apoyaremos principalmente en el momento de la asamblea (circle time), en el que tendrá lugar la expresión oral, aprenderemos y reforzaremos vocabulario básico como el que se indica a continuación:

  • Saludos/Greetings (hello song, good morning)

  • Día de la semana (canción Days of the week): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

  • Tiempo atmosférico/Weather: sunny, cloudy, rainy, windy, foggy, snowy.

  • Numbers: 1-20

  • Colors: Blue, green, red, yellow, orange, purple, pink, brown, grey, black, white.

  • Formas geométricas/Shapes: circle, rectangle, square, triangle, rombus/diamond, oval, star, heart

  • Abc´s

  • Actions: dance, clap, point, sit down, stand up, wave

  • How many children are in the class? Who is at home? Is a girl or a boy?

  • How do you feel today?

E iremos alternando diferentes actividades durante las sesiones, fundamentalmente TPR (Total Physicall Response) –canciones con movimiento, juegos con flashcards…-; cuentos, videos en la PDI, fichas, posters, dados, bingo… 

Este curso he empezado a implementar los Learning Stations en el nivel de 5 años. Consiste en organizar rincones (4 como máximo), en cada uno de los cuales habrá una actividad o juego (preferiblemente manipulativo). Los niños/as se dividirán en equipos e irán rotando por los diferentes learning stations. Para esta metodología tengo el apoyo de Naya, la auxiliar de conversación que viene a una de las dos sesiones semanales, durante media hora o una hora. Las estaciones de aprendizaje o Learning stations son muy útilies para consolidar los contenidos de la unidad y para seguir repasando contenidos vistos anteriormente. Y al ser juegos manipulativos (como el bingo, roll the dice and speak, challenges....) los niños/as se lo pasan súper bien.
